Old Tomorrow buys Double Trouble Brewing

Posted by Dean Rowan on

Old Tomorrow announced today that it has purchased Double Trouble Brewing Co.

Old Tomorrow – known for their portrayal of Sir John A. Macdonald – and Double Trouble Brewing – known for their Hops & Robbers IPA – are both contract brewing companies. The Double Trouble brand, founded in 2011, will continue as a separate brand.

“We seek to unite like-minded craft brewers dedicated to bringing quality and innovative flavours to consumers,” said Ian Macdonald Jr., Old Tomorrow president. “The craft beer market remains strong with significant growth potential, but as the market saturates, there are new challenges to compete effectively. This acquisition represents an evolution of our business strategy and will enable us to add further value for our retail partners and Canadian beer drinkers.”

The announcement also outlined the formation of United Craft – a new business aimed at enhancing customer service, sales, marketing, distribution and promotion to help grow independent craft brands.
