Malic Acid, 2oz
Malic acid can be used to introduce tartness to hard ciders. Often times store bought juices have been produced from a blend of sweet apples and may not contain the tartness desired in a finished cider. Malic acid can be used to augment this and improve the sharpness and overall flavour.
Use an Acid Test Kit to determine the TA (titratable acidity) of your cider then follow instructions either with your test kit, or found online to adjust you TA. As a general rule, 1tsp of Malic Acid (or acid blend) will raise your TA by 0.15%
